UTILITY & INFRASTRUCTURE EQUIPMENT TAMPERING ORDINANCE
The Town of Poseyville has passed Ordinance 2025-02-11-01, strengthening protections for our water, gas, and sewer infrastructure.

- Tampering is Illegal: No one is allowed to tamper with or disturb utility equipment—this includes opening, entering, or interfering with any meter or related equipment without proper authorization.
- Property Owners Are Responsible: If you own or occupy property with utility equipment, you must ensure that no unauthorized individuals tamper with the equipment.
- Fines for Violations: Fines of $500 for the first offense, and up to $2000 for subsequent violations. Each violation is treated separately, and each day the violation continues adds to the penalty.
- Cost of Damages: If tampering causes damages, violators will be responsible for the costs of repairs, including labor, materials, and any lost utility service.
